This past Saturday we welcomed Bristol Mahjong Club co-chair Tom Pearson to Leeds for a couple of Saturday night games. Tom was one of the first people involved when the club restarted post-pandemic and is still a friend to Leeds Riichi Mahjong. We played two games, finishing rather later than we planned on account of a lengthy Game Two!
The first contest was a tight affair won by Max Garnett for his inaugural win in an in-person game, while the second was an absolute blowout as Michael Yeung won with a monster score of over 100,000 points, including what I believe to be the second yakuman in club history. Congratulations!
Michael's yakuman (with added tanyao for good measure).
Michael's point sticks at the end of the game!
